The Plano Symphony Orchestra gets the kids moving with a summer family concert series in Frisco

With support from Frisco Arts, the Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is creating accessible programming with its educational initiatives in its Summer Family Concert Series. The performers of the Plano Symphony Brass & Percussion will perform two daytime concerts on the theme Let’s Dance! Sunday July 10 at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Performance music will include popular movie tracks like Encanto, Aladdin, Moana, etc. These concerts aim to teach children of all ages about brass instruments and encourage them to participate in the 45-minute interactive performance. Families can also enjoy Instrument Petting Zoo 45 minutes before the concert in the lobby. This is an opportunity for children to familiarize themselves with the instruments.

“Children of all ages should be introduced to the symphony at an early age,” says Director of Education Dr. Jennifer Wheeler. “Music, especially classical music, has an impact on children’s listening and concentration skills. We are proud to show them that the performances of the Orchester symphonique, in particular the Plano Symphony Orchestra, are accessible to them. .”
