Stambaugh Offers Children’s Theater Camp | News, Sports, Jobs

Stambaugh Auditorium will be offering a summer art camp for kids July 11-15.

The five-day camp will host up to 70 school-aged children and culminate in a full-scale production of the musical “Johnny Appleseed” the last day.

The camp will feature local arts organizations such as Ballet Western Reserve, the Butler Institute of American Art, Opera Western Reserve, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Playhouse, and OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology as well as the Missoula Children’s Theater. The mission of the Montana-based theater is to develop life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.

Stambaugh will partner with the City of Youngstown Parks and Recreation Department, the Boys and Girls Club and the Jewish Community Center to make the camp available to interested students who are already enrolled in one of the camp programs of Youngstown summer day.

With support from sponsors and insurers, Stambaugh’s goal is to make the camp available at no cost to attendees. Contact JoAnn Stock’s Chief Development Office at or 330-747-5175 for more information and sponsorship opportunities.
